Second Amendment Rights Resolution Passed for Surry County!
Surry County became a "Second Amendment Constitutional Rights Protection County" on January 6 with a unanimous vote by our Board of Commissioners.
The Resolution asserts that Surry County Government will not allow gun confiscation or other restrictions that infringe on the right to keep and bear arms by law abiding citizens as expressed in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and further asserts that Surry County Government will use every legal means necessary to protect the Second Amendment Rights of County citizens.
We are getting word that Stokes and Wilkes Counties may be acting on similar Resolutions within the next week. Also, I'm hearing from Counties as far away as Craven and Lenoir on the Coast wanting to learn more about this process.
The meeting was attended by hundreds of citizens who resoundingly supported the Resolution and cheered when it passed. It was standing room only with many people not able to even get inside the Commission Room.
God Bless Surry County citizens and our Founding Fathers who had the foresight to pass a Bill of Rights including the codifying of our already God-Given Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
